Vlady Vassilieva (Ukraine/ Mexico)
Mexican pianist of Russian descent, Vlada Vassilieva has performed at the principal concert venues in Mexico, United States of America, Russia, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, France, The Netherlands, China and Canada. Winner of the Nadia Reisenberg Piano Award in New York (2010); top-prize winner at the “Claudio Herrera” National Piano Competition in Mexico (2006), Russian Music International Competition in United States (2004), Angelica Morales – Yamaha National Piano Competition in Mexico (2003), International Competition for Young Pianists in Ukraine (2003), Ludmila Knezkova-Hussey International Piano Competition in Canada (2002); Outstanding Achievement Diplomas at the International Competition for Young Musicians (the Netherlands, 2006) and IBLA Grand Prize (Italy, 2005).
Founding member of the piano Duo PETROF (with Anatoly Zatin), Ms. Vassilieva is a Petrof Artist since 2008, and recipient of the FONCA 2007 scholarship for performers of the National Foundation for Culture and Arts in Mexico. BM´06 at the Fine Arts Institute of the University of Colima with Dr. Anatoly Zatin, MM´10 at Mannes College for Music in New York City with Prof. Pavlina Dokovska, as a Fulbright Garcia–Robles grantee. Since 2006 Ms. Vassilieva is a member of the faculty at the Music Department of the University of Colima in Mexico.
In 2008-2009 she has performed at the Musical Spring International Festival in Saint Petersburg, “S. Oskolkov and friends” International Festival in Petergof, Sviatoslav Richter´s Museum in Moscow (Russia), International Piano Festival “En Blanco y Negro” (Mexico), Mannes´ Festivals “The Pianist as Composer” and “The Mendelssohn Salon”.
In June 2006 her performance of Prokofiev’s Third Piano Concerto with San Luis Potosi Symphonic Orchestra under A. Zatin was released on DVD by the University of Colima and Real Musical de Mexico. She has performed Beethoven’s Fourth Piano Concerto with the Aguascalientes Symphonic Orchestra under A. Zatin, at the ‘All Beethoven Piano Concertos’ Season in June 2007, and in May 2009 with the Transcarpathian Philharmonic Orchestra in Ukraine.
In 2008 the CD “Duo PETROF” was released and officially presented at the Music China International Expo 2008. In 2009 Duo PETROF was awarded Honorary Mention at the 10th Web Concert Hall music competition.
